You are right, by all mean avoid the school holidays. I am a Malaysian, living in KL, my husband and I both retiree, will avoid travelling during school holidays but unfortunately at times we have to. I was never accustomed to tipping, either. I do, however, see the benefit in tipping "certain" waitresses {those who don't receive minimum wage}. I personally believe every "employee" {regardless of their position} should receive ample wages that would support them without having to depend on tips. However, there are some places where tipping "is expected",.....

Sorry, can't help on the costs, but sounds like you got amazing value for money.

What's the diagnosis - broken bone, torn ligament? Sounds really painful and I'm sure the novelty of the cast will wear off soon. Hope you don't have to wear it for long. In the meantime, milk the sympathy for all it's worth!
